I’m Michelle and I’m delighted to be part of Well into Arts. I have a passion for building confidence, eeking out those hidden talents we all have and helping people to find and work towards their aspirations.

Over the last 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with the local community as a Community Development Worker, Family Worker and Children’s Worker for Nottinghamshire Children’s Centres which has given me a raft of skills and ideas of how to support families when they are often at their most vulnerable. I now want to use this knowledge to support people through the Well into Arts programmes.

As a Mum of 3 grown-up children and Mamma to Jess, I have faced many challenges throughout the years and know, first hand, the power of creativity in helping me through those tough times and keeping me on track the rest of the time! I have an eclectic mix of hobbies including crafting (all sorts), baking, gardening, walking our dog Izzy and reading, to name but a few – all of which I use to help me switch off, relax, motivate, energise or inspire, depending on my mood.

There’s no denying, life is tough at times and I’m no expert but I’m happy to share some of the ideas which have worked with others and what I’ve learned along my very own roller-coaster ride and hopefully this might help you too. Stay positive 😊

(something I have personal experience of).
Since retirement I have joined the vineyard church and like to volunteer, helping out in the MV van to bless passers-by with hot drinks particular those without homes and ability to cook. I also use my counselling skills to assist those who are struggling.
I love volunteering with Well into arts, it really enables me to use my skills and qualifications.

BTW my favourite colour is purple!!!

Hi there, I am Lara and I am really honoured to be joining the team. I am a qualified social worker and have 12 years experience working in frontline children’s services. I am passionate about working with children and am proud to have offered support to some of our most vulnerable children and families across Nottinghamshire.  I am privileged in my current role as Social Work Practice Consultant to work alongside newly qualified social workers/less experienced staff in developing their skills to become competent and skilled social workers. I love my job and thrive on helping others to develop and see their potential. I have a particular interest in mental health and emotional wellbeing and how the arts can improve our confidence and resilience.
